Your Teacher

Meet Alex

“I came to yoga from a love of the outdoors and expressing myself in those environments, surfing, mountain biking, hiking and canoeing. Yoga began a way to strengthen my body, recover quicker and have more energy for my next adventure and has grown into a love of learning, philosophy and building community connections. I love how yoga spills out into all facets of your daily life, relationships, creativity, parenting and everyday interactions all benefit from a regular yoga practice.

From the first yin class I took, I was instantly hooked. The space within has always interested me and It’s this space that I regularly draw on for creative inspiration and clarity in my daily yoga practice and life.

In 2022 I completed 250hrs of Yoga Teacher training with Rebecca Duffield @ Zero Point Yoga, and when the opportunity to follow it up with 100Hrs of Yin Yoga teacher training with Angus Knott came up, I jumped at it. With my love of the practice of Yin and Angus’ in-depth training I began my journey as Yin teacher. Since I began teaching Yin yoga, it has become one of my favourite thing to do, helping all bodies without judgment improve joint mobility and feel deep rest is a beautiful thing.

I create a safe and nurturing space. I offer plenty of options for students so they feel stretches in the correct target area, taking into account our skeletal variations. This allows students to customise the class to their individual body and practice and enables a safer, sustainable and more beneficial practice.

The power of sound is something I have always worked with as a creative professional. I have completed level 1&2 sound healing with Life Changing Energy Adding the element of sound healing into my classes is another passion of mine.”
