Groundwork - Yoga to Begin With

This popular 4 week program returns November 8.

Suited to those new to yoga or those who want to go back to basics and experience familiar shapes from another perspective.

What to expect:

  • Explore the foundations of Yoga for beginners with senior teacher Mia Shaw

  • 4 sessions across 4 weeks covering the foundations of a holistic and accessible yoga practice.

  • Explore simple variations of the key postures, safe alignment and the foundational philosophical ideas of yoga.

  • Safe, non-competitive, body positive space and LGBTQIA friendly.

  • Suitable for all ages and experience levels.

Drysdale Studio 5:30 pm Tuesdays beginning 8th of November

Investment $100 and it includes an unlimited two week membership after the course ends to use at either studio.


 

Meet Mia

SENIOR YOGA TEACHER

“I began the practice of yoga over 15 years ago in a Iyengar studio in Fitzroy. I have explored and been fascinated by this tradition and way of life from that moment on. Yoga has been a guide, a light and a truth in my life. Since becoming a teacher, I have become deeply devoted to the practice and having a musical background gives me the opportunity to interweave these worlds to create unique offerings and experiences.

I gained my 350hr Advanced Diploma with The Australian Yoga Academy and have completed post graduate study including 50hr Yin training with Karina Smith, Art of Adjusting and Advanced Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series with Dominique Salerno (AYA) Meditation teacher training with Phoebe Kiddo (Dreamhaus, Berlin) and have attended various workshops and courses with local and international teachers and educators.

I am a big believer in yoga being accessible to everyone and have experienced the transformative and healing power of this practice - my intention being to share this with students. To help empower, grow & experience all that yoga has to offer.”
